Crimes of Fashion

Girls are guilty of it. It’s sad but true – looks matter. The bar is one of the biggest spots for a girl to scope out the eye-candy, so a guy’s got to be on his game when he’s out on the town. Every girl is going to have her own ideal-guy equation, but here are seven ways when your choosing what to wear to be sure to turn a girl’s head &ndash away from you.

1.  Sunglasses
I am all for protecting your eyes from the sun and I will admit, guys look hot rocking a sexy pair of shades at the beach, on the boat at the lake, out-and-about during the day. But it’s unattractive sporting your shades to the bar. You look like you are trying to be a wannabe rock star.

2.  Chunky Shoes
Your shoes are the most accurate measurement revealing your level of style. Chunky-soled shoes and boots are reserved for male dancers – period! And white, thick-soled sneakers got left behind with the 90’s.

3.  Dress shoes with shorts
AC/DC did it, but it did not make them cool – their music made them cool. Only wear dress or casual dress shoes with long pants or jeans. The only appropriate gear to garnish you feet should be sneakers or sandals (restrictions follow.)

4.  Flip-flops
Flip-flops and open shoes should only be worn at the lake or a laid-back bar in the summer. Don’t wear them to a nice bar or club. There’s nothing more embarrassing then not getting into a club because your date can’t wear appropriate shoes.

5.  Men’s Undershirts
I think Vanilla Ice wore them back in the 90’s. Any questions?

6.  T-shirts with stupid sayings
Back when I used to work retail I was amazed by how many guys would select a T-shirt to wear out that night that reads, “Mr. Right Now” and “Have you seen my wiener?” I am not a guy but I would have to make a pretty solid assumption that most guys go to a bar to meet girls. And girls just don’t find “I’ve got wood,” to be a turn-on. P.S. A girl does not want to sleep in one of those T-shirts either.

7.  Overly baggy clothes
It was a popular look in the mid 90’s brought in by the Hip-hop scene, but the style is long gone. For the guys’-guys who is worried about appearing too metro, forget about it. You are not going to lose your masculinity by wearing clothes that fit.
