Minimal Clothing is not what you might think.... a line of clothing for people who like to be naked, wish they were naked, or are generally striving for that sense of freedom that comes from being naked.
Say what? Oh right.... it's the name of their company. Kind of a "less is more" thing where less is not really less but just, well, IS.
Be careful trying to search for them online. Minimal clothing should not be confused with minimalist clothing. I will admit I was NOT so careful and ended up here.
I feel stupid for not first trying the obvious: MinimalClothing.com
Minimal Clothing was started in Dallas, Texas early in 2005. The company was formed by three young designers. In a recent interview, Rob Daffer (president) told RGXLife, "We wanted to create stuff for the contemporary individual. Our designs are inspired by paintings, film, photography, music, architecture and even cultural events from both the past and present." Given that very broad pool of inspirational elements I asked if it might be easier if they instead explained which elements or concepts did NOT serve as inspiration - you know - like small rocks, garage door openers, used zip lock baggies, or ... um... fig newtons? Rob was not amused but evidently not pissed off because I did get a free T-Shirt. :)
In addition to having cool designs, I was delighted to learn that all of their clothing is 100% ring-spun cotton, and guaranteed 100% sweatshop free.
Last but not least it is all manufactured, designed, and printed here in the USA.
