Developed by Q Entertainment, Every Extend Extra is a puzzle game in which you control a flying bomb that you must detonate among a group of flying enemies. Their explosions in turn lead to chain reactions that can wipe out the entire screen. The premise is sort of like flipping dominoes except the dominoes are constantly moving and shooting bullets. The pace of the game is very exciting - you constantly have to plan and carry out your strategies or risk running out of time or lives. The puzzle mechanic is not as quick or obvious as lining up matching colored blocks, but after a few rounds, it is fairly easy to pick up.
Graphically, the game is solid like most Q Entertainment games. The art design is reminiscent of Lumines as is the sound. It is simple, yet crisp and stylish. My only visual complaint is that sometimes I could not tell the difference between enemies and bonus pickups. There is a lot of fun to be had with Every Extend Extra, however, the lack of depth prevents it from being as timeless as other games in the genre. The game has recently dropped down to an affordable twenty bucks. On top of that, a playable demo of Mega-Hit, Lumines II, is included which makes Every Extend Extra and excellent value for the PSP. I highly recommend it.
