The Heat is On - #1: The Beach (or for the land-locked, the local lake or river)
When there’s a body of water of any kind, we ladies are always up for a relaxing day in the sun. And what does that mean for you, gentleman? When a woman’s relaxed she’s easier to approach, and the more relaxed she is, often the more comfortable she is with herself. And, the more comfortable a woman is, the more likely she is to talk to you. So the odds of her blowing you off, like she might at a bar, decrease. Women know the story when they go to a bar, but they go to the beach for fun in the sun, so they’re more apt to join you for a friendly game of beach volleyball or tossing a football around.
Another great thing about the beach is that there’s always more than one woman! Ladies love to grab our friends for a relaxing, work-free day, and with more than one woman to talk to, chances are you’ll meet someone who you’d like to get to know better. It is simply strategic positioning, men: the higher the number, the higher the odds are that you’ll meet your summer fling!
Another beach bonus: Most women go au-naturel, or as natural as possible for outdoor activity. This means that you’ll see a woman in all her natural beauty, and it’s nice to get a close look at a lady, rather than staring at her in a dark bar, wondering if she’s a blonde or brunette, hoping there’s more to her than her foundation. If you wanted to date a Cover Girl, you would have written the actual models. See her real beauty in action! And don’t forget, there are plenty of fun activities to do with your new flight while you’re down by the sea. Volleyball, swimming, listening to tunes under her umbrella, and tropical drinks to make everyone forget their cares. That’s ten times better than awkward conversation at dinner, or yelling at each other over music at the local club.
Pumping Iron - #2: The Gym
Everyone wears fewer clothes in the summer, which means a lot of people start hitting the gym to firm up. You’re sure to see some new babes circling the free weights that weren’t there back in January. The best fact about meeting a woman at the gym is she’s not there to please anyone but herself. And that’s a good thing. Why? Because chances are, if she talks to you, she’s talking to you because she thinks you’re cute or interesting. She doesn’t have to give you a bunch of lies to get you away from her and her girlfriends and the bar. She can just go over to the treadmill if she really wants to ignore you. Plus, you already have something in common, and for the man who finds striking up conversations hard, this should smooth the path for you. Another bonus is that working out makes people more confident. So if you had your eye on the girl-next-door who’s a little shy, maybe she’ll get some courage, as she squats her way around the gym. And for you, you might become the man “in the know”, as you bench press four times a week.
Bonus: Women often work out in groups. (Now, don’t you have some abs to do?) And For the Brave Man: Be-bop your way over to the yoga or Pilates class. The man to woman ratio is in your favor!
Grooving on a Summer Night - #3: Concerts and the Local Park
Summer concerts are the best! When girls get near our favorite bands, just watch the dancing begin and the screams reach full pitch. The best type of concert for the summer is an outdoor one, when the breeze is on late night, and we want someone to hold us from behind, rocking out with us to our favorite songs. Grab some buddies, tailgate beforehand, and schmooze with women from all over.
Bonus: Make a future date for the whole gang to see the next favorite band in town!
And parks? From active to the bookworm, you’ll find all kinds of women in the park. If you love being active, take a run or a hike. Maybe you’ll meet an athletic beauty for a weekly jog. Dog lover? Take Fido for a walk, and slide alongside a knockout redhead and her French bulldog, Spike. You’ve already got something in common - a dog-lover is a dog-lover through and through. Avid reader? You’ll find your bookworm sitting on a park bench with a bottle of water, and an intense gaze. Ask her about her book or divulge some info about yours! It’s always great to have automatic conversation material, and if she finds you creepy, you’ll know right away when she moves ten benches away!
Put this in Your Brown Bag Lunch: Offer a sunburned lady some sun block, and she’ll think you’re her hero!
It’s your summer, boys, get to work! Get out there and have some fun, or end up singing the Summer Blues.
