Bassist, Monster envisioned a Metal band that would invoke the guys to bang their heads, shake their fists and the girls to shake their asses. This would be a true Metal band in the tradition of Black Sabbath, Metallica, Pantera and KISS.
Using this premise, Monster produced the music that is known as JUGULUR. “Planet Dead” is enjoyed worldwide for it’s IN YOUR FACE attitude and power-groove metal. The songs have been in movies, videos and more. Monster has always been seen as center of the band. After all, he wrote and arranged the music and lyrics.
His bigger than life persona evolved into a career in music, commercial endorsement, and television. He has appeared on Entertainment Tonight, MTV Icon, Game Show Network and The Battle for Ozzfest to name a few.
“Torn” goes into the deepest of human issues exploring the choices both right and wrong we struggle with. While “Planet Dead” exposes man’s ability to destroy his own existence. This is mighty dangerous territory indeed. “War Retribution” seals the deal by revealing the heart of every soldier. “It’s our most controversial song. We’ve been accused of being both pro-war & anti-war because of it. I wrote this after talking with a war vet. It really opened my eyes to what it really means to ‘sacrifice for our country’.”
“Metal is music that drives forward with a force to be reckoned with. No other music does that. Only true metal can explore under the rug and see what makes us tick. To me, music must be dangerous. It’s what makes it alive no matter what the genre.” says Monster. Hence he’s coined the phrase “Keep Music Dangerous”. Indeed JUGULUR does.
