The streaking Rockies, who lead the National League Championship Series 3-0, can wrap up the title with a home victory over the Diamondbacks on Monday.
If they win the series, they will play either the Boston Red Sox or the Cleveland Indians in the World Series. The Red Sox and Indians are tied 1-1 in the AL series.
Torrealba broke a 1-1 tie with his line-drive homer off Arizona starter Livan Hernandez into the left-field stands on a cold, rainy night.
"He threw a fast one, and I hit it really good," Torrealba, the Rockies' catcher, told reporters after facing two slow curveballs from Hernandez.
The homer, which came with two outs, was his first of the post-season. He also had a double in the third inning.
The victory was the 20th in 21 games for the Rockies, who have won all six playoff outings.
Josh Fogg gained the win, his second in the post-season, holding Arizona to seven hits and one run over six innings. He struck out three and walked one.
"We played them (the Diamondbacks) a lot this year, so we had a pretty good idea of what we wanted to do with them," Fogg told reporters.
"It's a game of adjustments, and I was able to make some adjustments tonight before they were," he added. "We know what they like to hit."
Matt Holliday gave Colorado a 1-0 lead with a solo homer in the first inning off Hernandez but Arizona evened it in the fourth through Mark Reynolds's homer.
Only one team has rallied from a 3-0 deficit in a championship series, the Boston Red Sox in 2004 against the New York Yankees. They went on to win the World Series.
